Meet the Team

The Management
The Elms is managed by Mrs Michelle Stroud. Michelle has worked at The Elms for over 2 years, and has been instrumental in implementing major changes to meet the ever increasing needs of the regulators.

She has a wealth of experience gained from years of working in care at every level. The skills and knowledge that she has allows her to fulfil her vocation as Manager with compassion, empathy and humour, and the team she has built and the residents she cares for bear testament to this.
The Staff
Staff provide 24 hour care within the home, with the shift rota based upon a pattern of two daytime shifts and one nighttime shift. Chefs and housekeeping services work on a slightly different rota.

The registered Manager operates a thorough recruitment procedure based on equal opportunities, having suitable qualifications, and screening so ensuring the protection of residents. All staff are required to undertake enhanced CRB checks as part of this screening.

The staff at The Elms have between them a wide range of experience. They are committed to satisfying the individual needs and requirements of all our residents, in a warm and friendly environment. All our staff attend regular courses and training, and we maintain ongoing training programmes to ensure that residents receive the best care.
Qualifications & Training
All staff are required to undertake regular training in all skills relevant to the roles they fulfil within the Home. Manual Handling and First Aid courses are considered to be mandatory by the management of the Elms and must be completed annually.  All other training forms part of the Continuing Professional Development that ensures our Philosophy of Care can be followed. If staff wish to undergo NVQ or other formally recognized relevant training, they are supported at each step by the management of the Elms.
